Description
Embark on a day trip from Nagoya to the historic Nakasendo Trail, once linking Edo (Tokyo) and Kyoto. Visit Magome and Tsumago, two beautifully preserved post towns, and walk a scenic stretch of this 400-year-old route. Start in Magome, with its wooden houses, cobblestone streets, and mountain views. Enjoy free time to sample local dishes like soba or gohei-mochi before visiting a nearby waterfall. From there, walk a 3.3 km section of the Nakasendo Trail (about 1 hour). In Tsumago, stroll Edo-era streets with inns and merchant houses, while your guide shares the trail’s history of travel and trade. With an English-speaking guide, this tour blends culture, history, and nature—an ideal escape from Japan’s big cities.
